Our Leadership Team

Paul Black

Paul Black has been in church leadership for over 50 years and was ordained as an AOG minister 20 years ago.
He is married to Jan and they have 2 children and 8 grandchildren and 2 great-granddaughters.

He worked for the Prudential Assurance Company for 30 years covering Brixham and parts of Torbay.

He is passionate about the local church and people’s roles within it. He believes that we each need to be where God is calling us to be so that we can grow and develop our gifting as each part of the body does its work.

Bob Hyde

Bob Hyde rejoined the leadership team in 2024. He previously lead the Church from 1987 to 2010. He is passionate about reaching out to the wider community and promoting discussion about the Christian Faith. He is married to Trude. Bob currently works as a Funeral Celebrant.

David Petts

An Assemblies of God minister for over sixty years, Dr David Petts has pastored two churches, served as a Bible College Principal, preached and taught in churches, colleges and universities around the world, and written several books which have been translated into more than a dozen different languages.

David continues to minister internationally by weekly podcasts and locally at BCC as part of its Leadership Team. He also serves as Chair of the church’s Board of Trustees. Mark Goodyear

Mark has been involved in church life for over 60 years. In 1984 he felt the call of God to join an evangelistic team travelling around the UK and also visited Canada and Zimbabwe at this time. He used drama sketches as a means of communicating the Gospel message. In 2004 he moved to Brixham and became part of BCC where he preaches regularly. In 2006 he married Juliet and has 2 step children and 2 granddaughters. He is passionate about mental health and well being and runs a confidential group for people with these issues.

The Assemblies of God has over 500 churches throughout Great Britain.

We seek to build churches that are relevant to people of all ages – many of our churches attract a large number of young people. In our local expression of church and our corporate identity as a whole, we are committed to transforming communities by reaching out to all individuals regardless of age, race or gender.
The current leadership of the movement have begun a radical transformation to make it more relevant and effective in the 21st century.
